This service offers the ability to encrypt devices and files in order to protect data. This service supports the University policy where files and devices containing personal identification or confidential data must be encrypted.   • Encryption of University portable devices (excluding USB drives)
  • Only those with password access to the device are authorised to access the data, which protects the data in case of loss or theft
  • Knowledge and support on how to encrypt files


All members of University staff and students are eligible to use this service.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

We aim to respond to service requests within one working day and to resolve your query/request within ten working days. If your request is considered to be a priority when triaged by our IT Support Centre, the response time will be adjusted accordingly.


This service is available 24/7.
