Podcasting
The University's Lecture Capture service (Podcasting) is designed to enhance student learning by making timetabled lectures readily available via the Video Portal. This invaluable service also accommodates recordings of other events and user-generated content. To maximise accessibility, all videos are equipped with high-quality, AI-powered speech-to-text transcriptions. For convenience, these videos can be easily integrated into popular learning environments like Canvas.
In the 2023/24 academic year, the Lecture Capture service played a significant role in student success, recording more than 34,900 teaching events and generating an impressive 54,702 hours of educational content. Students highly use this resource, accessing recorded lectures more then 5.5 million times. Crucially, most of this material was made available within 60 minutes of a lecture's end, ensuring students could promptly review and solidify their understanding.
