Visitor information

We ask anyone intending to visit IT Services to take a few moments to familiarise themselves with the information below.

Health and safety

We endeavour to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and visitors.

You are expected to comply with all health and safety requirements presented to you, and to take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your activities.

During your visit, your host (or their appointed representative) will take responsibility for you and will advise you of information regarding your health and safety, including the emergency procedures in case of fire, first aid, or any other information relevant to your visit.

Smoking

All University work places and vehicles are designated as non-smoking and smokers are not permitted to smoke within five metres of the entrance to a building.

This also includes the use of electronic cigarettes (or e-cigarettes).

Planning your visit

Specific requirements

If you have any specific requirements or additional needs, please raise them with your host; preferably before your arrival if possible. Arrangements can then be made to ensure your visit runs as safely and smoothly as possible.

Site and Systems Access

If following discussion with your host you are authorised to work unsupervised during your visit, your host will arrange for access and provide you with any required swipe card.

You should discuss any potential IT requirements you may have for your visit with your host in advance, to ensure suitable provision can be made.

Car Parking

Visitors travelling by car should use one of the pay and display car parks identified on the interactive map. For example, if you are visiting the Kilburn Building, you can use the Booth Street East (Aquatics Centre) car park.

Further travel, access and accessibility information is available from the Maps and travel page of the University website.
