Getting Started
Step 1 - Getting access to IT at the University of Manchester is simple and easy. All staff and students can use the computing facilities located around the campus and to access these facilities you will require a computer account.
Step 2 - Once you have obtained your account details - a username and password - you can log on and use University IT facilities - don't forget to change your password the first time you log in. Please note that passwords must be at least 8 characters long with 2 numeric characters included.
Step 3 - All staff and students are bound by the University of Manchester regulations when using the University computing services so make sure you are familiar with these rules and regulations.
