Podcasting

The University’s Lecture Capture service (also known as Podcasting) records timetabled lectures and makes them available to students via the Video Portal.

Additional events and user-created content can also be recorded and uploaded and all videos are provided with high quality speech-to-text transcription generated using AI.

Videos can also be embedded into other learning environments, such as Blackboard or Canvas.

During the 2023/24 academic year, the Lecture Capture service recorded over 34,900 teaching events, producing an impressive 51,610 hours of recorded content.

Most notably, much of this material was made available to students within 60 minutes of each lecture's conclusion, allowing for prompt review and reinforcement of course material.
