High Performance Computing (HPC) - Internal

This service provides on-campus platforms for computationally-intensive research and is underpinned by multiple platforms: The Computational Shared Facility (CSF); the Condor Pool (CP) and the Interactive Computational Shared Facility (iCSF).

The CSF and Condor:

  • Run multiple computational jobs simultaneously
  • Suitable for multi-core jobs, or those that need large amounts of memor
  • Also suitable for large numbers of small jobs or larger jobs which can be split into small jobs
  • Run in ‘batch’ – submit jobs to a queue without user interaction
  • The iCSF offers an alternative environment, to interact with software via the application’s own interface

Academics, research staff and Postgraduate Research students are eligible to use this service.
