Instant messaging

Microsoft Teams provides an instant messaging and collaboration tool to users across the University.


  • Allows University staff members to be aware of the availability of other staff in real time
  • Staff can take part in and record text, audio and video conversations and conferences from their desktop PC
  • External collaboration partners can also be invited to conversations or conferences


All members of University staff on are eligible to use this service, as are mobile users.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

We aim to respond to service requests within one working day and to resolve your query/request within ten working days. If your request is considered to be a priority when triaged by our IT Support Centre, the response time will be adjusted accordingly.


This service is available 24/7.

Support hours

8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
