Our cyber initiatives

Login changes

We've added an extra layer of IT security for all staff and postgraduate research students by introducing 2-factor authentication. This changes the way we login each day, prompting you to use a new virtual private network (VPN) called GlobalProtect.

Updated policies and procedures

Our IT policies and procedures are there to guide and protect you.

Enhanced firewall

Our University's firewall is the barrier that helps protect our network form hackers and viruses.

Safe software

Search through the University's online Software Centre to purchase approved, cyber-safe software products.

External collaboration

We often need to collaborate with external partners on our work and reserach - Dropbox for Business helps us to do just that.

Data Safe Haven

Data Safe Haven is the University's exclusive environment, where sensitive data can be stored and accessed by approved colleagues only.

New software called Intune will check that you’re authorised to access sensitive systems from any mobile devices you use.
