WebStats

This system allows you to generate reports based on web logs collected by webservers hosted by the Universities Linux based web-farm. (Logs generated by the Windows webservers need to be processed manually at the moment - contact web-support for further information)

You must use your central username and password in the login panel and the system will take you to a registration screen if you are a new user. You must check that your details when displayed are correct and you also need to enter some information about what web server(s) you will need access to.

Once you have successfully registered, you may login using the login panel and you will be taken to the 'Getting Started' page, which will give you some information about how to use the service. You will have to wait for access to be granted access to your required web server before you can fully use the system but in the meantime it will allow you to familiarise you to the interfaces.

The WebStats service currently uses AWFFull to generate statistics. AWFFull is an Open Source package, and is a development of a package called Webalizer (which was used by the WebStats service upto March 2005). Full documentation and sample output may be found on the AWFFull website.
