ETAp - External training application process for IT staff

What is ETAp?

ETAp (external training application process) is the approvals process for staff who report to one of the IT senior management team (administration; applications, support and development, client services and infrastructure & operations). If you are not a member of staff within one of these groups, please enquire about IT training with your line manager or Head of Faculty IS. For information on general IT training for University staff, please go back to the IT Services training team homepage.

ETAp is intended to make it easier for IT services staff to get the skills and professional development that they need in order to do their jobs and to maximise the value of the annual training budget.  Applications for external training are reviewed by the IT training board twice a year, and accepted or rejected. By collating applications at set times of the year, the training team are able to negotiate better rates with training providers, making the budget go further, and managers are able to strategically plan training requirements.
