Integration Service

The role of the Integration Service is to help deliver best value from IT investment through working to ensure that the University has joined-up information and the means to use it via reporting or customer and service management software.

The Integration Service is part of the Information Technology Services Division and also has its own project board to ensure it is working for the benefit of the University as a whole.  For issues around sharing information between systems the Service organises the Information Sourcing Group where these matters can be discussed along with priorities for information exchange.

Through its Integration Competency Centre the Service provides all interfaces between the University's central and local systems.  This service is available for anyone, internal or external, who requires information from the University's corporate applications or to provide information to those systems. Click on the Corporate data interfaces link for more information.

The Stakeholder Records Management Service supports the SPOT (Single Point of Truth) application and database which holds the single master ICT record for all our stakeholders.  This record is used within all the University's systems and to manage access to University resources. Click on the link for more information.

The Relationship Management Systems Team provides access to software and information is used to support contact centre, service management, workflow, relationship management and pre-award research administration activities.

Bringing information together from all the University's systems the Business Intelligence Centre is designed to enable everybody, from front line users in Schools to those with a wider remit, to have access to information without having to understand the systems which create it or how to do complicated querying and reporting.

If you have any questions on the use of information at the University or how to get access to it, the Integration Service will be happy to help.  For more information click on the link to the left or email the Head of Service, Ben Stedman; ben.stedman@manchester.ac.uk.
