Web based access (OWA)

Changes coming to keep your email secure

As part of the University's Cyber Security Programme, we are introducing 2-factor authentication in early summer 2017 which will protect our staff and Postgraduate Research (PGR) student email accounts. This will change the way we login and will require all staff and PGR students to get set up in advance, to continue to access email.

Staff and PGR students can access their email from on or off campus using the Outlook Web App (OWA):


The following web browsers are fully supported can be used to access the OWA:

  • Firefox 3.01 and above (Windows, Mac and Linux)
  • Internet Explorer 7 and above
  • Safari 3.1 and above (Mac only, NOT Windows)

Other web browsers will default to a minimal 'Lite' view. Lite view provides basic email and calendar access, but with less functionality than when using a fully supported browser.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome may perform erratically with OWA and should be used with caution.
